St. Ignatius Prep at SoC

Students from St. Ignatius College Prep worked as TV reporters to measure the city’s support of the Chicago Cubs in the playoffs during a recent field trip to Á¿×Ó×ÊÔ´’s School of Communication.
Nearly 30 St. Ignatius students used professional video cameras and microphones to interview passersby near Chicago’s historic Water Tower, just steps from the School of Communication’s downtown campus.

St. Ignatius College Prep students practiced broadcast journalism techniques on Michigan Avenue, asking Chicagoans for their predictions on the Cubs’ playoff run.
The students also gained hands-on broadcasting experience by delivering news reports from the School of Communication's television studio anchor desk, where their performances were recorded.
Their assignment focused on the Cubs, who are making their first playoff appearance since 2020. The student street reporters interviewed pedestrians about their predictions for the team’s success and memories of the Cub’s World Series championship in 2016. The anchor desk reporters also read Cubs- themed intros off the Teleprompter.
